We honor all manufacturer warranties

Kassa Kool works on all major brands of air conditioners, heat pumps and furnaces. If a part fails while your system is still covered, we honor the manufacturer's warranty on any brand, as long as the warranty is intact, whether or not we installed the system.

Kassa Kool is engineer-owned, and we keep warranty repair simple: a clear diagnosis, a straight answer on coverage, and a price for your share of the repair before we order anything.

What an intact warranty means

Each manufacturer sets its own terms, but a warranty is usually intact when:

  • The system is still within the warranty period (often 5 to 10 years on parts)
  • It was registered with the manufacturer, if the manufacturer requires registration (many brands give unregistered systems a shorter warranty)
  • It was installed by a licensed HVAC contractor
  • It has been maintained regularly
  • It hasn't been damaged by things like flooding, lightning or neglect, or modified with non-approved parts

We look up your model and serial number with the manufacturer to confirm what's covered before we order the part.

What the warranty covers, and what you pay for

A manufacturer's warranty covers the replacement part itself: the manufacturer provides the new part at no charge. It doesn't cover the other costs of the repair. Those are the customer's responsibility.

Provided by the manufacturer

  • The replacement part, such as a compressor, evaporator coil, fan motor or control board

Paid by the customer

  • Trip and diagnostic charges
  • Labor to remove the failed part and install the new one
  • Refrigerant and other gases, such as the nitrogen used for brazing and leak testing
  • Supplies such as filter driers, brazing materials, fittings, wiring and drain parts
  • Additional trips, for example to pick up the part or return to finish the job
  • Recovery and disposal of old refrigerant and parts

Why isn't refrigerant covered?

Refrigerant, gases and supplies are used up during the repair, so manufacturers don't include them in a parts warranty. On bigger jobs like a compressor or coil replacement, labor and refrigerant can be most of the bill, which is why we give you the price before we start.

How warranty repair works

  • Diagnosis. We find the failed part and show you what we found.
  • Warranty check. We confirm coverage with the manufacturer using your model and serial number.
  • Upfront price. You get the price for labor, refrigerant and supplies before we order anything.
  • Part order. We get the warranty part through the manufacturer's distributor.
  • Repair. We install the new part, test the system and take care of the warranty claim paperwork.

Bogdan lives in my neighborhood so when I noticed that my AC wasn't cooling as well as it used to I gave him a call. He was able to come out and diagnose my issue as a leaking evaporator coil within a day and he recharged to keep it going. Also he followed up on my Trane warranty to get the coil replaced which was done the following week. The part was covered under warranty but I did have to cover the cost for the refrigerant and labor. Overall I'm happy with the service and I'll go with Kassa Kool again if I have any issues in the future !

Had a noise issue with my newly installed AC (by a different company) which they were not able to fix or even to diagnose and insisted that’s how it’s supposed to sound. There is no way I could live with that , so I reached out to Kassa Kool who was quick to respond and fix the problem. Owner is very knowledgeable and was able to address the problem on my Trane unit in the same visit. Reasonably priced, I will become their maintenance customer from now on.

Have a labor warranty too?

Some systems come with a separate labor warranty from the installing contractor, or an extended warranty plan. Those can cover costs a manufacturer's parts warranty doesn't. If you have one, let us know and we'll check what it includes.

Protect your warranty

If you've just had a new system installed, register it with the manufacturer right away; many brands require registration within 60 to 90 days to get the full warranty. Regular maintenance also matters, and some manufacturers ask for service records with a claim. Our maintenance plan includes spring and fall visits for $16.67 a month, plus 10% off repairs.

AC warranty repair FAQ

Do you honor warranties on systems you didn't install?

Yes. We honor the manufacturer's warranty on any brand, as long as the warranty is intact, no matter who installed the system.

If the part is covered, why do I still get a bill?

The manufacturer provides the replacement part only. Trip and diagnostic charges, labor, refrigerant and other gases, supplies and extra trips aren't covered by a manufacturer's parts warranty, so they're paid by the customer. We give you the price before we order the part.

How do I know if my system is still under warranty?

Most manufacturers let you look up coverage online with the model and serial number from the label on your outdoor unit or furnace. We can also check it for you during the service visit.

What can void a manufacturer's warranty?

Common reasons include not registering the system on time when the manufacturer requires it, installation by an unlicensed installer, lack of maintenance, physical damage, and parts or modifications the manufacturer hasn't approved. Every manufacturer's terms are a little different.

How long does it take to get a warranty part?

It depends on the part and the distributor. Common parts are often available quickly, while larger parts like compressors can take longer. We'll tell you the expected timing as soon as the part is ordered.

Covered part failed? We'll take care of it.
